A Hard Path emerged from a journey through Tibet, Nepal, and the Tibetan exile community in India following the 2008 protests in Lhasa. Moving between Tibet and exile communities, the photographs explore the distance between lived experience and the images through which political realities are commonly understood. The series marks the beginning of an ongoing inquiry into how places are shaped not only by history and experience, but by the representations through which they become known.
